If it was easy, everyone would be doing it and there wouldn’t be a reward when you achieve what you’re going after.

I am currently reading up on a man that had big dreams, but didn’t even know where to start.

He took lessons he learned from his high school football coach and applied them to the rest of his life to become a billionaire.

His coach taught him to focus on his strengths instead of his weaknesses. He was a small guy in the world of football, so he trained on endurance, speed, and agility.

He ended up going against a global monopoly and beating them! He started with $1,000k and a dream.

This man says that for every problem, there is a solution and that it’s only on as far as the other side of the coin. You just have to flip it over.

So, don’t ever give up! Keep trying for what is important to you and you will get what you want!

This however is a very good point and I wanted to share it with you. Talking about something doesn’t do much, but by thinking about it and then discussing it, I hope action will happen.
So, here is his plan:
“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. &#… Read the rest

Let me start off by stating that I am not a big Warren Buffett fan. I wouldn’t kneel at his presence. He has done well for himself, but I certainly don’t agree with everything he says or does.

This however is a very good point and I wanted to share it with you. Talking about something doesn’t do much, but by thinking about it and then discussing it, I hope action will happen.

So, here is his plan:

“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law
that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting
members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment
(granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to
be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971…before
computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution,
seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land…all because of
public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of
twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the
message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and
receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All
funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system
immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress
participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will
rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same
health care system as the American
people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen
made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a
career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should
serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three
days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is time.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it on.

Please share your opinion on this and definitely FORWARD this to other people you know. It’s time to break down the current system and change it.

That person used to be a major part of my life. We were business partners and we worked very hard to create something that is still enjoying great success today.

The problem is that he is the key to the success, I was just a replaceable part of it and our relationship went sour.

I was very very angry when our business relationship came to an abrupt end and I harbored anger for a long time.

Today, I am changing that. I sent him an email letting him know that I no longer hold those kind of feelings.

We all hear that we should forgive, but I am a very stubborn person and chose not to.

I have to tell you that I feel very liberated now that I have reached out to him and offered my apologies.

I don’t expect him to respond to me and that wasn’t my motivation to write him in the first place.

I wanted to free myself from the bitterness and move on.

You should think of people from your past that you havn’t spoken to in a long time because of a deal that went south or whatever reason.

It takes courage and you may have to get over your pride, but you’ll feel amazing afterwards.

Good luck!

I look up to people who have the skills that I don’t.

I look up the small business owners who had the guts to start something from nothing, go out there and fall flat on their face until they find their perfect pitch and are able to build a sustainable business that serves the market.

I look up to great marketers, athletes, inventors, creators, builders, writers, musicians, explorers, managers, leaders, and so many other types of people.

I started this website to bridge together people that I admire most(entrepreneurs) with the rest of us. It’s inspiring to know that there are so many small business owners out there. These people can teach you that you can do whatever you want.

To be honest, I hope this site and the whole idea of shopping locally, building relationships, saving money, and growing better communities will make us all happier and more successful.

It’s not about making the world a better place…it’s about us being better.

So, my 2 cents for the day is to focus on getting the word out and not get discouraged if you don’t receive immediate results.

So Victor, tell me about yourself; Well I was born in New York, raised in Califonia until I graduated from high school. I joined the NAVY right away and ended up in Vietnam, Grenada and Beirut/Lebanon. I served from 1973 – 1984 as a helcopter crew chief / rescue swimmer and combat rescue until I was injured and discharged for an injury in a helicopter accident during a special operations mission. I have been around the world and enjoyed it all. I have a wonderful wife and between the two of us we have 6 children all grown with families of their own. I have been in the Springfield area since 2008 and have made this my home. I hold a commercial pilots and commercial drivers license and love to scuba dive and sail boats.

You have 2 businesses? Yes, full time and since 1999 I run and manage EntreMANURE K-9 Waste Removal, a residential and commercial dog waste removal service. Part time I run and manage GROSSO GLASS Windshield Rock Chip Repair, a 100% mobile service to repair rock chip damage in windshields where 90% of the repairs are insurance claims with the deductibles waived making it a FREE repair.

How did you get into those fields? Well, GROSSO GLASS I actually started back in 1988 and ran that company for over 4 years doing also replacement work. I was a letter carrier with the Post Office and was looking for extra money while on my off time. So this year I decided to get back into this to bring in more income since I have the experience at it.

EntreMANURE was started becasue I was looking for something easy on my body especially my left knee since age was catching up with me. I was injured while serving as a helicopter crew chief/combat rescue and was involved in a helicopter crash during an extraction attempt in Beirut/Lebanon for a down and injured soldier back in 1981. So, around Thanksgiving of 1999 while on vacation I thought about doing this type work and started researching my idea. In December of 1999 I kicked it off and have been doing it ever since.

Why do you think it’s important for people to do business with someone they know? Well, trust is a big issue with me. If I know someone and they have done good work, they are honest and have integrity, then I will consistantly use that persons business. They have proven their workmanship and loyalty, its just good business practice!

What does the Shop Local movement mean to you? Because far more of the money spent at local businesses is reinvested in your community. This helps other local businesses, which creates greater diversity and helps the community maintain its unique appeal. Shopping local is environmentally friendly, too: it creates less traffic and pollution.

You don’t compete with Walmart, but you do compete with Safelite. How do you beat a giant like that? Well, you can’t beat the giant but you can let them know your at their heals everyday. Unfortunately, they are so big that 90%+ of the insurance companies use them as a 3rd party to go through to get insurance glass claims done and I acutally get paid by Safelite. But if it comes down to a cash repair because the deductible cannot be waived, their average price is over $90 to fix a ding in your windshield where I can come and do it for less than half of that right at $35. They are so big that its news that their quality of work is not good. You loose quality when you have so much quantity as far as they are concerned.

What else would you like to share Victor? I operate my business with honesty and integrity, I would not cheat anyone for even a penny. I pride myself in my work, I am not perfect but I have high expectations of my self and carry that down to providing the best customer service I can. Everyday is a new day and I hit the pavement running, the early bird catches the worm.

What do you think of when you see the word “fashion”?

Models walking down the runway in ridiculous clothes that you would never wear even if they were affordable?

We have to wear clothes. Society doesn’t like nudity. And at this time of year, you’d plain be uncomfortable. Certain things also shrink in cold air.

I recently got called out on my “too casual” look and it made me a little frustrated. I try to wear clothes that are comfortable, but I definitely don’t want to offend anyone. When it’s 100+ degrees outside, it makes it very hard to wear pants and a long sleeve shirt, let alone a suit. In my profession, I’ve never had to wear a suit thankfully.

In the past when I worked in the entertainment business whether in Hollywood, NYC or Europe, the fashion of choice was jeans, a button up shirt and a blazer. The shoes would either be boots or tennis shoes. That’s right, in that business; it is acceptable, almost necessary to show that you’re a “creative type” by wearing shoes and maybe even throwing in some crazy socks.

But now, I’m back in the Midwest and things are a little different.

It’s not like the 40’s

(the men in this picture were homeless) where men wore suits along with a fedora and women wore dresses. It’s much more laid back today.

I’ve always thought that the person who tries too hard by showing that they have spent a lot of money on their wardrobe is simply trying too hard.

On the other hand, if you show up to a business meeting in sloppy shorts or destroyed jeans and a t-shirt then you risk the chance of saying that you are a sloppy person who doesn’t care about anything.

What do you wear? If you are a service profession who goes out to homes to meet with prospects and customers, you have to look presentable but at the same time wear something functional. You don’t exactly want to wear shinny dress shoes and a suit if you’re a plumber. But what if you work on computers? Are jeans and a polo acceptable?

What if you work in retail setting? What kind of impression do you need to make?

It all comes down to who you are and what you do? If you’re not sure what kind of impression you’re giving off, just ask someone who is not biased and will give you their real opinion. Everyone has their opinion and you will probably get many different types, if you get many of the same, then it may be time to change how you dress.

So, if you want to move forward with your ideas and or plans then you need to be happy.
